Siren’s song

In the deep sea, there is a mysterious island, on which live three strange creatures, Siren sisters, who are half human and half bird. They are famous for their songs like sounds of nature, but they have also become nightmares for sailors. This song, like a curse, lures deep and leads countless passing ships off course, eventually hitting a reef and sinking, with no one able to escape its tempting trap.

However, in this endless tragedy, there is a hero, Odysseus, who successfully resisted the temptation of Siren sisters’ singing by virtue of his wisdom and courage. Under the guidance of the goddess Hermes, Odysseus took unprecedented precautions: he ordered the crew to seal his ears with wax after he was tightly tied to the mast, just in case. At the same time, he strictly ordered everyone that no matter how hard he struggled or shouted, he could not change his course and must steadfastly sail away from that place of death.

As the ship gradually approached the legendary island, the enchanting song of the Siren sisters came as expected, which penetrated the roar of the sea breeze and hit Odysseus directly. He felt an unprecedented temptation and struggle, but reason and determination kept him going. And the crew, like deaf people, were completely unaware of the deadly singing. They continued sailing along the predetermined route until the heart stopping singing finally disappeared from their ears.

When the ship completely got rid of the siren sisters’ magic voice, Odysseus was able to get rid of the shackles, and the crew also took off the wax blocks in their ears. They exchanged a smile, their hearts filled with joy of victory and admiration for Odysseus’ wisdom. The eldest sister of the Siren sisters, Palmer Lope, saw all this, and her heart swelled with deep despair and love. She couldn’t accept how her invincible singing could be so ineffective, let alone suppress her admiration for the heroic figure Odysseus. In the end, she chose to commit suicide by throwing herself into the sea, ending her life tragically.

From then on, the ‘Song of the Sea Demons’ became a timeless fable, warning people to be wary of those seemingly beautiful but actually deadly temptations and lies. In real life, we should always maintain a clear mind and a firm will to avoid being misled by false sweet words and misleading statements and heading towards destruction.
