Eight Immortals’ Journey to the East

Once upon a time, the Eight Immortals decided to travel together to the coast of the East China Sea to explore the legendary Penglai fairyland. Originally, they could arrive in an instant by soaring through the clouds and mist, but Lv Dongbin came up with a unique idea and suggested taking a leisurely boat ride to savor the sea scenery. He cleverly used the iron crutch to transform it into a grand and magnificent dragon shaped ship. The Eight Immortals sailed by boat, drinking and writing poetry along the way, laughing and having fun.

However, this tranquility and joy were shattered by a sudden storm. In the depths of the Dragon Palace, the seven sons of the Dragon King – the Crown Prince of Flower Dragon – are leisurely wandering outside the Crystal Palace. Suddenly, a melodious fairy music came from the sea. Following the sound, a large ship with carved dragons and painted phoenixes sailed leisurely. The eight immortals on board were of different shapes, and one of the beauties was the peerless He Xiangu, which made the Crown Prince of Hualong fall in love at first sight and unable to extricate himself. He forgot all the admonitions and constraints, and even had the idea of snatching a bride.

In an instant, the sea was rough and the dragon boat capsized. The Eight Immortals each displayed their divine powers, Zhang Guolao deftly jumped onto the back of a donkey, Cao Guojiu stepped on a clever board and went with the flow, Han Xiangzi used a fairy flute as a boat, Han Zhongli waved a fan, Lan Caihe tightly grasped the edge of a flower basket, and although Tie Guai Li lost his crutch, he was fortunate to have a gourd by his side. Only Lv Dongbin accidentally fell into the water and was soaked all over.

Originally, all of this was done by Crown Prince Hualong, who had abducted He Xiangu to the Dragon Palace. Subsequently, he even drove the shrimp soldiers and crab generals to create a huge wave, intending to submerge the Eight Immortals. Han Zhongli stepped forward, gently shook his fan, and a strong wind suddenly rose, sweeping the enemy into the clouds. Even the four Heavenly Kings were shocked and closed the South Heaven Gate tightly. The Crown Prince of Flower Dragon saw the situation was not good and changed his body shape several times. He first transformed into a giant whale to devour Han Zhongli, and then into an octopus to entangle with Iron Gua Li, all of which were cleverly resolved by the Eight Immortals. In the end, the Crown Prince of Flower Dragon transformed into a sea snake and escaped. Zhang Guolao and the donkey chased after him closely, but were accidentally blocked by the crab spirit. Fortunately, Cao Guojiu rescued him in time, and the crab spirit died.

Although this trip to the East China Sea encountered twists and turns, the Eight Immortals, with their extraordinary magical powers and deep friendship, ultimately turned danger into safety and left behind a legendary story.
