As the ancient saying goes, everything in the world has a master, and not a single bit should be taken in vain. Heroes are born from heaven and must follow the rules step by step. Today’s story is about the father and son surnamed Qiu obtaining millennium ginseng:
In the depths of the mountain, there is a dilapidated temple standing quietly. Due to its distance from people, there are no Taoist priests living here, only the father and son surnamed Qiu have lived here for many years. Although there is no incense in the temple, the father and son can take shelter from the wind and rain here. In front of the temple are steep rocks and continuous mountains, with various wild grasses and trees growing haphazardly, like a painting freely drawn by nature. One day, the father and son saw two children playing outside the temple gate, their lively appearance resembling that of mountain elves. At first, Mr. Qiu was curious and thought to himself, how could these children appear in the deep mountains without adults to take care of them? As time passed, they gradually became acquainted with each other. Qiu’s father wanted to use fruit to lure the child into the temple to play, but the child still looked timidly at the temple and never stepped in.
In this way, several years have passed, and the appearance of those two children has not changed at all. My father, who had lived in the mountains for a long time, heard some strange things happening at the foot of the mountain. One day, he slapped his head and shouted, “Heaven help me too!” Then he went down the mountain and got some big fresh peaches from somewhere. These peaches are red and emit a tempting fragrance. He casually placed them on the incense table and then entered the temple. The two children’s eyes lit up when they saw a few fresh peaches. A child was tempted and hurriedly ran into the hall, grabbing a peach and running out quickly. At this moment, Qiu Fu, who was hiding in the shadows, rushed out like a fierce tiger, tightly embracing the child and murmuring, “Haha, Heaven helps me too! Heaven helps me too!” Another child saw this and jumped off the cliff directly. Qiu’s father carried the child straight to the kitchen, and the child struggled desperately in his arms, crying out, “Please let go of me, let go of me!” The desperate voice was heartbreaking, but Qiu’s father didn’t care at all. While taking off the child’s clothes, he muttered to himself, “Little doll, don’t blame me for being heartless. If it falls into my hands, I’ll make you happy today.” Then he tied the child up, put it in a big pot, added water, covered it with a lid, and pressed it with a big stone to prevent steam from leaking out. He turned around and shouted for his son, who was scared when he heard a child crying from the pot. But Father Qiu said seriously to his son, ‘Child, go quickly and add firewood to cook this child. Remember not to let the fire go out, and you must not open the pot to see. He is not a human, he is a monster. I have to go up the mountain and open the pot after I come back. Remember?’ The son widened his eyes in surprise and thought to himself, ‘What’s wrong with father?’? He used to advise me to study hard, but now he has become so cruel! But he dared not disobey and could only nod silently. The child in the pot kept crying and shouting, “Help! Help!” This sound made people feel uneasy and extremely conflicted, wondering if he really wanted to do this?
This is just too cruel. The crying and screaming of the child in the pot became increasingly mournful. Standing next to the pot, Xiaoqiu wanted to let go of the child in his heart, but when he thought of his father’s usual strictness, he felt scared again and could only shake his head helplessly, continuing to add firewood to the pot. After a while, the child suddenly quieted down, probably boiled to death. Xiaoqiu was also afraid in his heart, after all, he was a living person! Although his father said he was a fairy, he didn’t look like one no matter how you looked at him. He is anxious and uneasy in his heart. About an hour later, when his father hadn’t returned, Xiaoqiu began to worry that the water in the pot would dry up, and it wouldn’t be good if he burned the fairy. He struggled inwardly whether to open the lid of the pot and take a look. If the child burns, the father will definitely punish him when he comes back. But if you open the lid of the pot, it goes against your father’s orders. In the end, he chose to open the lid of the pot in fear and unease.
Suddenly, with a loud bang, the child in the pot jumped out like a agile little beast and escaped. Xiaoqiu’s face turned pale with fear, his mouth wide open, and he stood there stunned. When he realized it, he immediately chased after him, but there was no trace of a child fairy. At this moment, the father ran back from outside panting heavily, holding a clump of green grass in his hand. Seeing his son’s panicked expression, he immediately understood what had happened and rushed into the kitchen, where he saw the big yellow dog he usually kept drinking the few remaining hot soup in the pot. Qiu’s father was so angry that his face turned pale. He clenched his fists and roared, “Son! You ruined my big deal! That’s not a child, but a thousand year old ginseng essence. If we eat it, we can immediately live forever and become immortals. It seems that we don’t have this fortune now.” After he finished speaking, he hurriedly went to find the clothes of the child he had taken off before, but found that the clothes were gone. Qiu’s father looked so dejected that he seemed to have been drained of all his energy and spirit. Seeing his father so sad, Xiaoqiu couldn’t help but cry and kneel down, saying, “Dad, why don’t you eat me? Although I’m not ginseng essence, I’m also a child, so I should be able to help a bit.” At this moment, Qiu’s father realized that he was holding Xiaoqiu and started crying… Perhaps because of the ginseng essence’s “bath water”, the big yellow dog had become shiny in hair, and although it didn’t eat anything, it was spirited and wandering around the small temple. Suddenly one day, the big yellow dog disappeared. After hearing about it, the people at the foot of the mountain said that the dog had become immortal after drinking ginseng essence bath water.
If mortals want to become immortals, they must possess the Dao Bone Immortal Root. So, what is this’ Dao Gu Xian Gen ‘? It’s our true nature! It is impossible to take shortcuts to become a Taoist or immortal, as the Way of Heaven is the most impartial and selfless. Some people of practice do not read the classics, do not understand the scriptures, do not accumulate virtue, do not help others, and just want to eat “Ginseng fruit fruit” and “ginseng essence” every day to succeed easily. Is this possible? The ultimate treasures and sacred objects in heaven and earth are determined by who should obtain them, and this determination is also created by an individual.
