Spring has passed, autumn has arrived, and winter has arrived. The Year of the Snake in 2025 is approaching, and the annual prayer for the Tai Sui Talisman is about to begin. In our Chinese folk customs, we have always attached great importance to the issue of ‘zodiac year’ and ‘violating the Tai Sui’. In fact, Tai Sui is not a fierce deity, but the annual chief deity. Tai Sui Xing Jun is represented by the zodiac sign of that year. In folk tradition, it is believed that anyone who offends Tai Sui Xing Jun’s zodiac sign is likely to feel uneasy for a year, so there is a saying of “offending Tai Sui”. And wearing the “Tai Sui Talisman” has become an important custom for people to pray for a year of peace and prosperity.
一、In the year of the Snake in 2025, the zodiac sign of Tai Sui will be violated
Those born in the Year of the Snake are worth Tai Sui (zodiac year)
In the year of the Snake in 2025, people born in the Year of the Snake have a zodiac year of Tai Sui, which is commonly known as “violating Tai Sui in their zodiac year”. People born in this zodiac sign generally believe that they need to wear Tai Sui talismans to ensure a safe and smooth year.
Pig zodiac sign Chong Tai Sui
In 2025, the Year of the Snake belongs to the Pig people and is known as the “Chong Tai Sui”, which is one of the more turbulent types of people who violate Tai Sui. The zodiac sign of the Pig Earthly Branch “Hai” clashes with the Year Tai Sui “Si”. Rushing refers to colliding and impacting, and any confrontation with the Year Lord can easily lead to many twists and turns. It is especially important to pay attention to the anxiety of parents and elders. Among them, those born in 1995 in the year of Yihai (conflicting with the Earthly Branch of Yishi), 1971 in the year of Xinhai (conflicting with the Heavenly and Earthly Branches of Yishi), and 1959 in the year of Jihai (conflicting with the Heavenly and Earthly Branches of Yishi) have a more pronounced clash with Tai Sui, which requires special attention.
Tigers harm Tai Sui
People born in the Year of the Tiger will harm each other in the Year of the Snake, so the year of the Snake in 2025 is known as the ‘Year of the Tiger’. ‘Harm’ represents persecution, hidden harm, and is prone to some unintentional troubles.
Those born in the Year of the Monkey will be punished by Tai Sui
People born in the Year of the Monkey who encounter the Year of the Snake have already applied for punishment, known as the ‘Punishment Tai Sui’. Especially if there are people born in the Year of the Tiger at home, or if they work with people born in the Year of the Tiger, or if they have an affair with someone born in the Year of the Tiger, it constitutes the “Yin Si Shen San Xing” and has a significant impact. During the year, it is important to pay more attention to personal safety and maintain harmonious interpersonal relationships, especially when dealing with mutual harm, conflicts, official misconduct, and criminal injuries.
二、 Where to welcome the Tai Sui Fu
The Tai Sui Talisman is a Taoist ritual that must be crafted by a master who has been formally appointed and strictly abides by the rules and has profound skills. The New Year Tai Sui Talisman should be made after the Winter Solstice of that year. It is recommended that everyone go to a regular Taoist temple to welcome it, or be granted the blessing of a Taoist monk to make it. Please do not shop online casually. Mass printed or Tai Sui symbols without the blessing of a legitimate Taoist monk are useless.
三、Instructions for Wearing and Using Tai Sui Talisman:
- The Tai Sui Talisman is worn on New Year’s Eve and is recommended to be worn on the body throughout the entire first lunar month. After the first lunar month, you can keep your backpack, bedside table, under your pillow, desk, car and other personal belongings safe. You can put it in your wallet, but try not to put it in pockets or other areas below your waist.
- The Tai Sui talisman is usually packaged in a lucky bag in the shape of a folded triangular arrow, and it is best not to open it. If you want to open the Tai Sui Fu for observation, be sure to keep your hands clean and restore it after viewing.
- The Tai Sui Fu is valid for one year. This year’s Tai Sui Fu needs to be incinerated on the New Year’s Eve or the day of the beginning of spring in the following year. Choose a Taoist temple or crossroads, use at least one yellow paper wallet, and incinerate it.
- During the use of Tai Sui talismans, it is taboo to be dirty, as they will become invalid once they come into contact with dirt. Do not randomly add other objects to the talisman bag. Women should not touch the Tai Sui talisman directly with their hands during menstruation, and it is okay to wear it with them. Never carry it during sexual intercourse. If the Tai Sui talisman is damaged or contaminated, it needs to be incinerated to send away the talisman god.
