GanJiang MoYe

In the ancient state of Chu, there was a renowned blacksmith named Gan Jiang, whose swords were incredibly sharp and renowned throughout the world. Upon hearing of his great name, the King of Chu ordered his generals to forge a peerless sword for him. After three years of hard work and dedication, Gan Jiang finally forged a pair of unparalleled male and female swords, which were his lifelong masterpieces.

However, the corrupt general who knew well that the King of Chu was suspicious and fickle was deeply worried, fearing that he would not escape death after presenting the sword, especially since his wife Mo Ye was about to give birth, which made him even more worried. On the eve of my departure, General Gan secretly said to Mo Ye, “This journey is full of bad luck. I have hidden my sword under the pine and stone of Nanshan Mountain. When my child grows up, I will tell him, ‘Look south between the pine and stone, hide the sword on his back.’ I hope he can help me avenge me

The next day, Gan Jiang carried a female sword and met with the King of Chu. When presenting the sword, he deliberately concealed the matter of the male sword and only said, “This sword is one of the twin swords of the male and female, and the other one is even more divine. However, I swear to death that I will not offer it.” The King of Chu was greedy and furious upon hearing this, and immediately ordered the execution of Gan Jiang and took the female sword.

After Gan Jiang’s death, Mo Ye suppressed his grief and gave birth to a son named Chi. She remembered her husband’s last wish, worked hard to raise Chi, and revealed all the truth. Upon hearing of his father’s plight, Chi was moved to tears and vowed to avenge him: “Mother, I will make sure that the Chu king pays his blood debt with blood

Following his father’s guidance, Chi found a majestic sword among the pine and rocks in Nanshan. He practiced day and night, and his swordsmanship gradually improved. At the same time, King Ye Mengchi of Chu, wielding a sword for revenge, was terrified and urgently ordered the blockade of the city gates to search for Chi’s whereabouts. Red had no choice but to retreat into the deep mountains, but her desire for revenge became even stronger.

One day, Chi encountered a righteous knight who heard of his plight and decided to lend a helping hand: “I can help you seek revenge, but I need to borrow your head and sword as bait.” Without hesitation, Chi bravely went to justice and committed suicide. The knight brought his head and precious sword to meet the King of Chu, falsely claiming that this was the head of the Red Emperor, which could ward off future troubles. The King of Chu was overjoyed and cooked his head according to the plan, but it didn’t spoil for three days and three nights. The knight lured the King of Chu to personally observe, took the opportunity to wield his sword and behead him, and then committed suicide to show loyalty.

The male and female twin swords forged by Gan Jiang, despite this upheaval, remain as sharp as ever and have been passed down to future generations. People named the twin swords “Gan Jiang” and “Mo Ye” respectively to commemorate this loyal couple and their brave son, and spread this tragic and legendary story.
